The plot revolves around Joyce Carter, who has just come out of a long-term abusive relationship. She has always been with her boyfriend, Harry Miller, who was a narcissist and suspicious. Joyce has just moved to a new apartment and finds a handsome man, Carl Cooper, who helps her move in, even when she tells him she doesn't need help. He asked which apartment she was moving to, and she mistakenly said 301, which wasn't her apartment; it was Carl's, so he named her Feisty Girl 301.

As she was trying to sleep on her first day in the new apartment, she was having nightmares about her ex-boyfriend that he is torturing her. She immediately wakes up with the sounds of moans coming from the neighboring apartment. She went to yell at Carl, who offered her to sleep with him, but she instantly declined and asked him to keep it down. But he didn't stop; she went back again, and this time, his roommate, Andy, came outside. They both joked about Carl and became friends.
